This past January I got to coordinate a beautiful wedding at The Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville. Emily and Chase were the sweetest couple. Their ceremony was in Wightman Chapel and was very personal. They had special readings and songs sung by family and friends, and they had their mothers participate in the unity candle ceremony. You could really tell that Emily and Chase wanted to include their families on their special day and show that through their union two families were coming together as one. The ceremony was very formal and respectful. Décor was minimal as Wightman Chapel is already so beautiful on its own. Greenery wreaths were hung on the doors and a greenery garland with candles highlighted the altar. As a coordinator it was very exciting to plan out a ceremony with multiple elements. There was live music to accompany the ceremony and a large wedding party; making sure everything was timed right and went off perfect was a fun challenge.
After completing pictures at the Scarritt Bennett the wedding party boarded a party bus and headed over to Saddle Woods Farm in Murfreesboro for their reception. With the ceremony now complete this group was ready to party. After a heartfelt welcome speech given by Emily's father and a traditional family song sung the reception was in full swing. Music was provided by the Emerald Empire Band and they kept the guests grooving all night long. The reception ended with a sparkler sendoff.
What I truly loved about this wedding was all the personal touches scattered throughout the ceremony and reception. One thing I particularly loved was how Emily honored her grandparents who had passed away. She used their original cake topper on her cake and had a photo of them cutting their cake on her cake table. She also had a collage of photos honoring family members who had passed away next to her guestbook. Emily was a DIY bride who designed and sourced all of her décor herself. Her colors were dark green and gold and she had candles on every table giving off a romantic glow. As a coordinator I always love to see what couples come up with for their décor.
Emily was such a joy to work with leading up to the wedding. I loved bringing all of her plans together and executing her wedding day. From determining the layout, writing the ceremony script and timeline, and making sure all vendors had the information they needed it was one of my most favorite weddings yet.
