This Halloween I had the privilege to be the Day-Of Coordinator at a wedding at the Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, TN. It was a unique wedding for a unique couple. The evening weather was perfect for the outdoor pavilion ceremony. The ceremony was sparkling with string lighting, and the mood was festive. Due to the holiday everyone (including the wedding party) was dressed up in costumes. After a quick ceremony it was clear this group was ready to party.
The reception took place inside at The Governor’s Table which is the old restaurant turned event space at the park. Décor was minimal and fall themed with pumpkins decorating the space. From the moment I met this couple they made it clear to me that they were looking for a party with a wedding attached to it. They wanted zero downtime, and the reception definitely delivered. This reception was like none I have ever seen. After dinner events kicked off with a rousing game of “Name that Tune”; the theme was songs that should never be played at a wedding. Six teams battled it out for a quilt made by the bride. Once the game was over guests were able to dance and gamble the night away. This couple rented out casino tables where guests could play poker and roulette. The atmosphere was one big party.
It was truly an honor to be part of such a unique wedding. This couple was very sweet and wonderful to work with. I truly wish them a lifetime of happiness.
